Watered down gas

Just wanted to post this here for fellow subies. 76 gas station on Sutterville Road is watering down their gas. My buddies outboard boat was having problems with their fuel. First time thought it was a bad batch. After having fuel flushed out second time became suspect. Tested their fuel and you can see the water and gas separated. Be careful if you fill up there.

Damn that sucks.....I fill up there quiet often too

How did you test it and was it fresh fuel that you just got from them?

First batch was drained and the boat mechanic said the fuel was no good. Shrugged it off filled up at another gas station ran fine for a few weeks. Filled up at 76 and outboard would die hesitate. Brought back to mechanic to drain lines again and you can see the gas/water separate.

I also know the owner of the 76 they are in Ch.11 bankruptcy so it didn't surprise me when I found out the gas was watered down. It might not affect the cars too much but very sensitive to outboard motors.

Hah same here!

Actually that's funny that this came up. I was wondering why my gas light would go off at 300miles.. I thought It was my car. Then I filled over at chevron the other night ( florin by i5) and I'm at 340..no fuel light yet. So I just filled it anyway.

340? Y'all are hypermilers. I can barely get 250 out of a tank, even on my Legacy.
