Today, I was on my way to the track driving down Rocky Ridge, when I see some trucks up ahead and a lot of cones... I thought it was just road construction or something. I kept looking, I then noticed there was a CHP officer there. I was thinking to myself, "why the hell would there be a CHP officer here?". I read a sign that said, "Survey Check". I was like What the **** is a survey check...

Then sure enough, I see this big slab of steel... It was a damn Dyno, they where doing smog checks, they where infareding people and giving them smog checks as they rolled by... It was a slow to about 15mph... I started to panic(me being in my sti and all). As I got close to the check point, I turned my car off and coasted through the check point... as soon as I passed it, i turned my car back on... Every CHP officer there turned and looked at my car!!


So be on the look out guys, looks like this is going to be a pretty common thing!

you do know that technically you dont have to go through those, or DUI check points for that matter. they are required to give a turnout before you go through the checkpoint. but if you make that turn, they are watching you very closely, especially at DUI checkpoints.

I saw that thing on Rocky Ridge once. Luckly I was going the other way (I had the full exhaust on my car at that time) I've been running stock cats since around that time...
