Well, maybe they'll surprise us all and make the STI 5-door something fancy. An STI hatch is pretty cool...

I understand what they are trying to do and I respect that they are enterprising enough to go that route. I just wished they didn't make the stupid mistakes that they do i.e. the svx auto only transmision, the 1st gen Tribeca front grill, the hatch only sti and the list goes on.
The WRX is falling behind in sales because it is no longer the segment leader/definer. Performance has not substantially improved and cars like the Mazda 6 and even Camry and Accord are strong alternatives to those who don't want a race car, just not a boat. Despite the Joan Rivers-like facelift history, it's an aging platform that has not substantially improved in 6 years since introduction. Moving with the rest of the market segment is the only option for Subaru. Bringing in the hatchback is a good move because it pushes the WRX into a less crowded market- performance hatchbacks that don't cost a billion dollars to maintain and insure. Well, maintain anyway...

Also a good point. Though there arren't too many AWD rally cars out there. The Suby and the mitsu are unique in that aspect.

Wow...yeah I personally blame lazy fat America. As much as I love this country the more I look around and open my eyes I truely see how fat and lazy we are as a country. Especially when we can't get any good fun sports cars everyone else gets overseas

Yeah... that's the real downside to Americans... we don't get good sports cars. You need to work on opening those eyes a bit more. (Glasses on perhaps?)
