Valve Shims

Hey guy I was curious if any of you know where to get some valve shims? I ordered from the dealership but the sizes were not correct and its kind of a hassle just curious if any of you know any good places to buy from. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

oh i see. did you have the sparkplug crack or something else?

you got new heads right? if the heads are newer than a certain month of 2002 (i cant remember now when subaru made the change) you can avoid those pesky shims and just use the full shimless bucket.

please someone correct me if im wrong, but i do believe that the shimmed 02 valvetrain can indeed be converted into shimless bucket, you just use a different way to adjust the tolerances.

search g00gle for 02/03 shop manuals (unless you already have them). read them, the answers to your questions are probably there.

also search nasioc; a quick search has yielded some threads on this topic.

let us know how it ends up workin out for you man

I had wrong measurements prior to talking to subaru but now have the corrected measurements. Decided not to do the bucket option so as of now I'm waiting until Subaru gets them here. Also yes it was the sparkplug crack

Thanks for shining some light on the situation (:
