No, seriously. I think the newer ECUs can handle a bit more boost. Its the older ones where the ECU freaked out.

bear in mind that briefly pushing 19psi @4000rpm is not the same as pushing 19psi at 6000+rpm.

i thought it wasn't the ecu that was a limiting factor as far as boost is concerned on the stock turbo, but blowing hot air was?

I'm just playing with you. You put on your Borla XR-1 right?

So explain if you can how you are running 19 psi and your tq substantially greater than your hp.

I really don't know as never actually owning a bugeye. I could easily be mistaken.

yea with my first reflash, I was boosting at 1.3 bars on a TD04.

But I think If I kept running it, that little snail would have died.

I meant 19 psi on the TD04 and running stage 2.

Did he say he was running a TDO4? Damn..
umm yea I'm dunno know what to say.
I don't know too much about things but I know pushing 17 PSI on a TD04 is pushing the little turbo. Are you reading your boost gauge correctly? Did you request an aggressive tune? Something's up. I was told "hey we really can't do too much with your little TD04, girlie man. Get a bigger turbo." So I did.

But hey prove me wrong.
