oh yeah. so im tryin to setup a router in my room and its not working. it says it cant connect to the internet. but the ethernet cable going into my computer werks just fine, hence why im still online. so wtf is the router not working for?

 

seriously... build me a better gaming computer for 400 bucks and then you can call it a rip off

Call your ISP support. Depending on who it is, they could be using the MAC address of your network card to serve as your authentication for the internet connection. If so, the problem is that your router has a different MAC than your router, and the ISP is blocking your connect attempts. You can clone the IP on your router, but it's not worth doing unless it will fix the issue. If you want to clone and just try it out, check out your manual and it should hvae instructions.
