Tues...
Yesterday, I was talking to my buddy with a turbo RSX. He had something on his car that made a weird sound everytime he shifted. I asked him about it and he informed me that it was a Blow Off Valve? Anyone know what that is? He said I could add one to my car and it should help with performance a little?

You car has a stock one. The air flows back into the intake instead of blowing it out into the atmosphere which makes that whooosh noise.
It does make the car run rich in between shifts. No real power gains and you don't really need one unless you're building something the stock valve can't handle but you might scare some kids. I did

Oh and also
A blowoff valve is a pressure release system present in turbocharged engines. Its purpose is to prevent compressor surge and reduce wear on the engine.

I don't know anything about cars. I was just asking based on what he said. Is what I said false?
