trouble starting today

It's in the 40s today and I was having trouble starting my car this morning and tonite. The car would take a couple of times to crank or I would have to twist the ignition for a while until it caught after a second or so. I have an '03 with 18,xxx miles so I think the battery should be fairly ok. Any thoughts?

thanks,
Daniel

so your car would just crank over but not fire or the starter would not even run ?

It's normal for starts to take a moment or two longer when it's really cold, especially if your car has been sitting overnight.

Just remember that the charge that batteries keep decreases with the temperature. That's why people in genuinely cold climates have battery warmers.
