In other news, I'd like to share the results of a rather informal study I've been conducting.
For the last month, whenever I checked out/bought something at a store, I'd wait for the cashier to give me the total of the bill.
Whatever the total was, I'd ask the cashier if he/she would accept 10 to 20% less.
If they baulked, I'd mention that I could get the same goods/services from the internet cheaper.
The few times I went out to eat, I asked the food getter if the bill would be cheaper if I supplied the ingredients.
In 43 cases, not one cashier reduced the total amount due.
Stay tuned for my results with the IRS.....
