Something I should have done to my car...

It gets rid of the tumbler valve deep in the intake system...

My tumbler valve failed at 20,000 miles, and the dealer replaced it, its a huge job.

Look at the site I linked. You can get just the manifold in red, or add on the Tumble Generator Valve delete piece.

Install is a biotch, BTW.

When I put the fuel rails on my WRX, I had to remove the intake manifold. I think it took me 4+ hours to remove, add the rails & injectors, and reinstall. There are a lot of vac hoses and wires that have to be disconnected in order to remove the intake manifold. You also have to remove the ignition coil packs because they and everything else are bolted to the underside of the manifold. And of course you can't unbolt them until the manifold is off the car. The fuel lines need to be disconnected too, and if you change out the manifold, oyu'll have to swap the stock rails over along with everything else.

I got faster when I dismantled the wagon. I think I put the rails back to stock in under 3 hours. When we installed the rails into Lance's wagon I think we got it in almost 2 hours. I'm an expert now.

Here's what the mess looks like:

Theoretically you should get better airflow with the TGV's gone, but I don't know of any numbers to prove it.

Alright I'm here.

I'm not sure on lunch today. I'll PM you guys. Would you have any interest in moving our lunches to Wednesdays? Because I have class before and after work on Thursday, if I take a 1 hour lunch, it makes me only here for like 6 hours and I feel ****ty about that. On Wednesday, I don't have class in the evening so it's no big deal. What do you think/

Scott was going to sleep when I was leaving for work this morning. At first I think he's working 9pm - 6am (starting tomorrow night I believe) and then he'll be working 12am - 9am.

So my accounting proffessor appears to be very...umm...cynical towards the auto repair industry. It was pretty funny. This morning he was talking about how shops will use an advertising special, like "Brakes for $100" or something, and then when you come in they recommend all this other stuff that your car needs.

Yeah no kidding. That's how they make money. They get you in for your brakes, and then they usually find something else that needs a fixin, like windshield wipers, or maybe you need a service because of the mileage you're at. Whatever helps them bring in extra business.

He was trying to say this is an unetchical practice. I tried to explain it out but I don't think people got it :|
