I went down the outside of the cables on the left side. The people gave us a strange look while we were descending. Probably because we were hauling *** on the way down.
We started at 6am. There were probably 2 or 3 dozen people on top of Half Dome when we got there but the crowds were there on our way down Quarter Dome.

It took us 10 hours for the 9 of us plus we stayed up top for an hour or so. I'm not sure how that fares with others who do this hike. We went up John Muir Trail instead of Mist Trail. It definitely saved us a lot of pain in the end. 2 of the guys who didn't do any sort of training/exercising were hurting before we made it to Quarter Dome so I don't know what would have happened if we took the Mist Trail instead. I'm in great shape but it kicked my ***. That pizza was awesome. I ate an entire medium by myself. Plus some Guiness, of course!
