Test drove an 06' WRX, thoughts

Well i test drove a 06' WRX at the local Subaru dealership. Very nice drive. No lag 1-3k like my RS. The turning radius felt a lot smaller then my RS.
Of course the 0-60 is better. Clutch felt way different.

My overall look on the WRX. Car worth buying, for sure. One thing though.... the rear WRX spoiler blocks way to much rear view and the front scoop is distracting.

all the more reason to go FMIC & wingless.

oh and the 06 WAGONS don't have the rear view problems.

You'd get used to the scoop and spoiler.

If the table top wing, and small wrx spoiler distract you... go test drive an 04-05 sti... that rear spoiler is at the worst height ever!! It perfectly blocks cop lights, and well add 2 inches to that scoop that you saw

That being said it took me a whole 10 minutes to get use to it, now I barely notice they are there

Very true... the whole cop lights thing is why my STi has a standard WRX wing... also the STi hood scoop can sometimes block right hand corner apexes.

Car Info: 05 WRX wagon
Talking

I drove an 06 and I thaught it rather neutral feeling. I ended up with a brand new 05 wagon. Dont get me wrong the power in the 1-3k range is much better but the controls (i.e. steering, clutch, throttle) are all very unresponsive. after about 3000 my car was much more fun to drive.

well don't be all shy next time. Say wuz up. Or was that you in the white 06' Sti?

I love the red. I think i grew love for red cars after my 240sx. I might just buy a WRX in the near future. Yes, i like the 06'. Only true Subaru fans can like that car like the bugeye. I doubt you will hear a stranger going " yah that car was hot".

The only thing i don't like about the 06' is the tail lights. But thats very minor.

But then there is the fact i want a GSXR also...... we shall see

I test drove both a '05 & an '06 before i bought my car & its was night & day as far as the power goes... it felt like the 05 was hardly moving compared to the 06 but the 05 does look better

That's interesting. I've seen mixed times with the '06. Some faster some much slower. I do whole-heartedly agree with you on the styling though.
