However I wouldn't be so keen for working on the 12.3" display all day long, as the fine resolution on that screen makes things a bit small. Yes I know there are adjustments but I leave them for a reason and will explain later. I do have a docking station with Dual Monitors at my Folsom office and an single external monitor for my Pleasanton office.
The battery life is good enough. Depending on how much its used, I can usually go the entire day in the Bay without needing to put it on charge. So about 7-8 hours of medium use.
The pen is nice at times but I find I don't use it too often nor need it for much. However the magnetic part is a better feature as opposed to the adhesive loop piece they used to include.
My my biggest gripe lies with Windows 10 and the lack of auto scaling adjustment. Meaning if I setup an external monitor, most of the times its going to have a different resolution and scaling than that of the Surface display. Because of this, each time I plug in the docking station/ext monitor I have to log out of the current user and log back in for the scaling to take effect. Windows 7 and most of the times windows 8, this wasn't an issue. I don't have to always, but because the icons and cursors are either extremely large or tiny, it makes working difficult if I don't. It's worse if I then log into our Remote Desktop environment, at times the cursor disappears altogether because its too small to see. Weird but it only happens in Windows 10.
Also a heads up, if you ever decide to get the docking station for the Surface Pro 4, keep in mind they only have two Mini Display Port jacks. You MUST use Active type adapters. Passive types will not work. Learned that one by trial and error.
