only to get up at 7am and re-wire in my gauges. I already pre-wired the crap, i just gotta tap the 12v accessory wire and plug in the necessary wires and im g2g

Car Info: Dying is not an option. It's an upgrade.
Just reformatting the craptop harddrive and installing the OS after running killdisk. This will take all night minus 1 hour. Is RedHat 8.0 considered current? I haven't installed it in years let alone use it. I hope I can get the wireless network card to work.

The latest version for desktop use is WS (workstation).
I'm not sure if it's still officially supported by RedHat, but they do still have patches and stuff on their website. https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/rh8-errata.html I doubt that it is as it's at least two releases old (RH 9 followed 8). And the kernel is the old 2.4 kernel, which is sort of buggy.
Here's all the docs for it: http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/l...HL-8.0-Manual/. I haven't dealt with the wireless stuff so I'm not too sure on that, but if you have any questions, the desktop and enterprise stuff is similar enough that I can probably help.
We don't use the desktop stuff at work, just the Enterprise versions but they're not always that different.
I really should buy a real basic PC and put Linux on it at home. Maybe someday
