I was in jvicks world today. Did a ride from Davis out through Winters over Cantelow and back. We had lunch at Steady Eddies. It had much win.

I was there Friday. I LOVE their panini's. The ride you did was the first 30mile ride I ever did back in HS. It was rough considering I'd only been riding a month. How was the view? Hazy at all?

You probably rode/drove by my place too.

I had the Frenchie panini, which is the turkey, tomato and Brie. Pretty bad *** panini. Also liked the bike friendliness and the prices. I had an iced coffee (with free refill) and a bottled water along with my sandwich and it was only $8.

We went out on Putah, hung a left on winters, rt on allendale, rt on peaceful glen, rt on cantelow, rt on pleasant valley and then rt again on putah creek. No real haze today, in fact at the top of cantelow we could faintly see Sacramento.

Cantelow was a good climb, it was 600ft in 2 miles or so. I could have been faster up it if I knew the hill better. I was afraid to stand and hammer because if it were longer than I thought I'd have blown up. Going down the other side was fun. I got over 35 mph just off the top of cantelow and pretty much held that all the way down and through the switch backs. What a blast that is. All in all a good day - found out when I got home that I missed a small spot on my ankle when I did sunscreen though

So you started and ended near Steady Eddies, leaving town across the white bridge? I love going down the back side of Cantelow, the first time I did it, I almost died. I was drafting the guy I was riding with, we were catching speeds closed to yours, but then during one of the narrow parts, there was a car coming at us. I hit the brakes too hard and started to skid a bit - it got hairy. How many people were you biking with?

Nice. You can clearly see Sac on a really clear day. From the top of mix canyon, you can see Sac and SF. That's an awesome spot. I don't know how easy it is to reach by bike.

We actually started off of W. Covell back in Davis at a starbucks. It was about 14 miles to Winters.

Yeah I could see the traffic thing. On the way down there were some Sherrifs parked along the side of the road. It felt weird going by them at > the speed limit but I said hi and they were cool. I think there were 16 or 17 of us.

You def. rode by my house then. You started near the Hospital in West Davis, then rode straight (for a long time) on Covell?
