it isn't even about the size though, its the simple physics. all you have to do is look at the curve of the wing and know about pressure and lift/downforce. He's actually the first subaru person I've encountered that has thought the wing to be useless. Probably owned a honda before and someone told him his k-mart wing was useless, so now he says all wings are useless

the ra-r wing is different then the stock usdm wing IIRC but whatever

i should be working so ill get back to this thread when im off till then post on.

again sorry if your offended by MO haha

your right, the ra-r wing is different from the usdm wing.....there isnt one and thats the point made in the quoted paragraph. It lacks the STi wing and therefore has less downforce and is less stable. It was said straight up in that paragraph

I calculated the downforce of the STi wing using the Langley Research Center FoilSim wing simulator. The results are 60 lb of downforce at 100 mph, and 140 lb of downforce at 150 mph, which is an increase of between 5% and 10% download on the rear wheels.

The WRX can reach the same speeds as an STi, it just takes a few seconds longer. So why is it useless?

The STi must travel under a magical 100mph where the rules of physics are bent and leprechauns grant wishes.

I believe the downforce at 100mph created by the wing of the SRT10 Viper is only 80lbs....or maybe it was 100lbs at 80 mph
