Speaker Recommendations
so doing a bunch of work to my LGT and thinking about up grading the speakaas while im at it. I have read millions of reviews and done lots of research. buuut i wanted to see if any real "tech" guys, or anyone that has a good understanding can throw in there 2 cents about what i want.
so if you didnt know, my car front and back takes between (with bracket) 5 1/4 and 6 1/2. im just looking for speaker replacements only. for right now. what my biggest concern is quality. im not looking to dome gangster rap or want speakers with crazy output that can go super loud etc etc. just want the clearest, crispest sound i can get, with the MOST variety of Hertz as possible. i know thats gonna not be easy with that size components, but just looking for the best with in my given parameters. I want the best quality i can get. not trying to break the bank so reasonable ish lol.
i dont know really know much in this field at all. i have HEARD mb quart are super clear and crisp. but have never heard them before. i have heard infinity kapas and reference, sony x's, alpine type s,r but not x, fosgates, kickers. the infinity kapas i think sounded the best. but the type r's were nice to.
so what do you guys think mr_silas should get?!

Some will agree and some wont but having a small amp to go along with your speakers helps a lot. Especially if your deck is not rated for very high wattage. The two brands of speakers i have liked the most were my Boston Acoustics and my Polk Audio speakers. Polk probably a little more.
+1 to bostons and polks.
also consider some rainbow audio speakers.Like 1FSTREX said about getting an amp would defineilty maximize the quality of both deck and speakers. get a 4 channel amp forsure.

Morel Tempo coaxs probably the best I have heard amped and unamped.
Bostons, Type r and kappas will need an external amp.
I think all Infinitys are way too shrill.... I really wanna get rid of my pair in the rear.
If you don't want to amp them I would recommend getting coaxial speakers because separates will want more power and definitely do not sound well even with the 20watts RMS your headunit MAY put out but most are 12, 15, 18 watts RMS. Only 1/5 of what the speaker wants.

I have Polk Audio DB6501 components in my suby. They have a good low range and have tweeters for clearer highs. They sound good now, but I'm looking to get a 5 channel amp later on for the speakers and a maybe sub if I ever go that route. They are pretty solid unamped, but once you start upgrading your audio, you'll want to keep upgrading until the sound is perfect.
