I dunno, but I'd probably ask an insurance company, and get a quick free online quote...

I have every friggin discount you can get from Allstate, 36 yr old male, married, homeowner in Placer County. The policy covers me, my wife, and my step-daughter who is 20 (technically she is listed on the lowest value vehicle to keep costs down - good thing I own a 60 year old jeep ):

1945 Ford GPW: $32/mo
2002 Lancer: $41.30/mo
2004 STi: $69.91/mo
2005 Legacy GT: $65.44/mo
2005 Titan: $78.34/mo

The STi, LGT, and Titan all cost roughly the same amount of money (within $1K of each other). So why is the LGT (which is one year newer than the STi) cheaper? And why is my Titan so much more expensive (it was bought less than two months after the LGT)?

I'm paying 133 a month for my 05 sti. 27 and no tickets
That's with a 250 comp and 500 collision.

But when i still had one point on my record, I was paying close to 180 a month for the same coverage.

It likely has to do with the claims experience that your particular insurance company has had with your specific vehicles. If something is more likely to be stolen (STi vs. LGT) then you will see higher rates. If parts are more expensive or the vehicle gets damaged more easily, the same result. There are many factors, but those are the basics. Besides those things, your zip code actually has a pretty big effect on rates for any specific vehicle as well.

Dude, check with www.esurance.com, I think I'm paying about $70/month for an '04 WRX. When I had the recent vandalism they were extremely responsive and even though I didn't have a rental car on the policy they were able to get me their price on the rental. I give them 3 thumbs up.

Because punk-*** kids who roll their cars drive STIs, where as responsible mature and well rounded individuals drive Legacys.
