So I ordered from overstock.com
I ordered a relatively expensive wooden shoji lamp only to have it arrive in pieces. The box was damaged and I was discouraged. Regardless, the lamp can be put back to together at the seams with wood glue.
So how did I deal with this situation despite overstock.com's return policy?
Tell them: "So let me get this straight... you want to inconvenience me three more times by waiting longer for an extra lamp, wasting gas to the fed-ex pickup -and- by putting additional miles on my car?! How about this... you ship me another lamp for free seeing how you're sooo “overstocked on them”and I’ll spare the smearing campaign of your company, okay?!"
The discouraged customer service representative said "Yes, Sir... I’ll have another sent to you right now with email confirmation." The poor guy didn't even ask me for the digital photos I took. I'm thinking about ordering a computer and lying about it now.
