Talking So, how much do you tip the person who cuts your hair?

So I went yesterday for a haircut. The regular that cuts my hair wasn't in so I tried this new girl. I said: "Two on the sides and trim the top." Simple right? Sure. So after all is done I put on my glasses and look into the mirror. "Not bad" So as I brush the hair of my shoulders I go to pay. "That'll be $15 dollars" I give her my CC and she rang me up. She then asked me, "Should I bill you for only $15?"
I said, "yes" (I had some cash in my pocket for tip)

So here is my question. What would you tip her? She did a good job IMO.(I'm picky about who touches my hair)

I gave her a good tip ($5)

What do you normally tip your haircutter?

At supercuts, I tip $2.

I used to tip a little more $3-$5 when I went to a shop I cared about.

Yea I normally tip about 3 bucks but she did a pretty good job for a n00b.

I don't normally tip 5 bucks but that day I was feeling good.

I just round up... on a $12 haircut, I pay $15... if they keep bumping the price up, they're gonna keep lowering their tips. Same goes w/ the pizza delivery guy, and other jobs where the service is highly defined and a tip is expected anyway. (I've yet had someone cut my hair or deliver my pizza so exceptionally well that I've felt the need to tip outside of the minimum required by tradition.)

I usually tip $3. Seems like a big enough tip, since my cut only costs $15, but not too small. Every now and then I give her $5.

$18 for the haircut and I usually tip $3 or $4 depending on how much cash I have.

I always tip $5. Around xmas I'll usually give her a $20. She's been cutting my hair for four years and she always gets me in even when she's booked. She rocks.

I cut my own hair (shaved) so I have more money for modding!

Seriously though when I used to get my hair cut I would give about $3, that seems reasonable.

i wish i got tips for doing my job correctly.

i usually tip $3~4 unless it's exceptionally good or bad.

what really defines a service that merits a tip?

i had a pest inspector hint at tips when i was buying my house. he got no tip. the house failed inspection. i called the manager and *****ed about this guy constantly blabbing about tips, manager came out and passed the inspection report.

so as the price goes up you tip less?!?!?! the delivery guy or server doesnt control what you order.

[rant]i had a lady order 12, 1/2 gallon glass bottles of rootbeer at my work today from me. it had me, the 2 bartenders and one of our managers running around to get all the nessasary stuff and take it all out to her car. the ticket was $120 so i figure i was gonna get at least like 10 bucks (low esstimate) off that order and then split the tip with the bartenders and be happy. she left us NOTHING, not a cent. so essentially i lost money on the order cause my sales went up and i had to tip out more to the bar and bussers. i over tipped the bar cause they had to deal with that too, so essentially i lost $7 because this lady didnt tip. some people......... [/rant]

anywho....... i always tip good, pretty much anyone that i think could be tipped or should be tipped i will. its tipping karma......
