Thanks for reading! Just got another Wrx and need to get it smogged. Only thing is that it has an after market Perrin turbo inlet. Does anyone know of any smog shops in or near Sacramento / Elk Grove that will pass visual with Inlet?? That's much appreciated, would rather try to find a shop first before sourcing a stock inlet and swapping it.

 

What size and color is the inlet? Does it have the brand printed on it?

 

One guy told me he got away with neatly wrapping the brand name in electrical tape, think it was black, which is after all the stock color. YMMV.

 

It's a Perrin and its bright red! Haha I wish I was black so I could hide the brand and be good. Also have the Perrin intake hose currently running stock box. Hoping I can find some where to pass it or I gotta take off the manifold to put the stocker in, which I don't have haha. Thanks for the help. Let me know if anyone else knows of a cool shop, cuz like I said it passed emissions just no visual

I can't wrap the part under the intake manifold without removing it though. And it's red

 

Trade it for a black one? That or a lot of black tape lol.

Might just have to throw a stock one one there. It's a pain to pull the manifold, but welcome to California...

 

Yeah I've lived here all my life. Cali smog is terrible. I avoided the inlet for this reason on my 05. It's ok I think I found a solution
