shop that can weld my diff

Ok, so to make a short story long. I'm putting together a beater E36 track/drift car. I'm trying to keep the whole build under $2k (I'm at 1k still including the car). And I have a BMW E36 3.91 open Differential that I need welded. Does anyone know a shop that could help me out? preferably in the Sacramento-Vacaville area. The diff is off the car and drained.
Basically, every where I called didn't even want to touch it. so any recommendations would be of great help!

thanks
Keep clam and drive a subie!

What kind of shops are you calling? As long as you've got it clean and dry (that means more brake-clean than I'd like to huff, or some time with a parts washer), it should be a 5 minute job - most places will shy away because you can't weld an oily mess without making a grease fire, or because they don't want to be responsible if you start popping axles, blow up an R&P and come back, etc.

Try calling 4-wheel fab shops, or check on craigslist for metal fabricators, but you need someone with a decent welder as you're not MIG'ing sheet metal - you need clean, solid welds or the slag will F your ring and pinion. "Lincoln Lockers" are not the best option for any setup, but they're pretty standard for budget builds and shouldn't be that hard to get done.
