Semi-exclusive Subaru track event 11/11/05
Some of you may remember that last year Lowball and I put on a semi-exclusive Subaru track day in conjunction with UnlimitedLaps.com out at Thunderhill. That event was great and I think we ended up with 25 Subarus running around the track.
Well, I just got an email from unlimitedlaps asking if we would like to do this again. They currently have Monday, October 31 and Friday, November 11 open. I know it is short notice, but I told them I would at least check.
The deal would be $195 for the day, which includes drinks, snacks, and a catered lunch. There would be three run groups: Novice (green), Intermediate (yellow), Advanced (red). Novice group drivers would get an instructor. Each run group will get four 1/2 hour sessions and a combined 45 minute session at the end of the day. We would have to get at least 25 Subarus committed.
Please note that $195 is an absolutely great deal. My last several track days at Thunderhill have run $249.
I know some of you will complain about the days, but in all reality you are not going to get a weekend track day at Thunderhill unless you are running a NASA event. Also, semi-exclusive means there will be other makes/models on the track with you. The total group usually ends up at 60 cars.
If you are interested, please reply to the thread with your name, car type, and preferred day. If either day will work, put down "either".
After all of the headache and stress from just barely making enough cars last year I wasn't going to do this again. But as a favor to unlimitedlaps, I told them I would at least check and see if there is some interest. Please only reply if you are serious about coming. If we start getting close to the 25 cars in the next week, I'll contact unlimitedlaps and get things going. If we don't, then all I can say is oh well.
