Turn you joke and sarcasm filter on.

(I know that is completely hypothetical since that couldn't ever even have the potential of happening) That makes sense. Sure they volunteered but that doesn't make it better for them to die. 1,500 humans can do a whole lot more for society than 1,500 monkeys. Anyone can flame on me for saying this, I really don't care. That's a rediculous statement.

You cruel insensitive bastard, society needs monkeys to survive!

BTW, you realize they're talking about using the poor little bastards as recon, not as grunt soldiers, right?

This isn't as far-fetched as it sounds; the Navy experimented with using dolphins to detect and defuse underwater mines. I love animals (they taste good grilled); the reality is that an intelligent 5 pound animal can go places and remain undetected where a human cannot.

They also trained bats to deliver grenades in WWII.

Don't get me wrong I have a great sense of humor but "then he shouldn't have joined SWAT" just doesn't seem like a joke. Seriously. I think almost every post on this thread after the part where I went bi-polar is histerical. And I obviously realize we can't use monkeys as grunts. The reason I took so long to reply is I am making an awesome picture I will post in this thread. Think Rambo Monkey.

The Army has dogs they use to find mines and during Operation Desert Storm soldiers ran camels across a minefield (there is a video of this but I can't remember where). It does make sense though..........if monkeys flew a spaceship by God they can fight with Charlie.
