Just got back from the track and im totally disapppinted and a discrace to subaru community. I couldn't connect 2nd gear on 4 of the runs. Best run of the night was the second run at 13.65 at 100.78. All the other runs were mid 14s. I can't understand why im not running faster. I'm so frustrated.

Driver mod makes a huge difference lol
My 1st outing I went from 14.1@100 to 12.7@108 within 3 runs. Next outing after that it was in the 11's.

Why are you not able to get it into 2nd? Does it grind or just lock you out?
Also what was the temp at the track? Did you ice your tmic between runs? I bet it also heatsoaked like crazy and pulled a ton of timing, so you were down on power too.

That car should be in the 12's at 105+

I felt the conditions might have been a factor. I got to the track around 5:45. The first run was just a warmup to run through the gears no launch. Ran 15.65 as expected slow shifting. It was 93 degrees on the track when I got there and by 8:30 is was around 85 degrees. Maybe I was nervous or anxious but second would not connect on a few runs. It would locked me out for 2 runs and then the other two grind. Maybe my stock shifter bushings are bad. From then on I just babied second gear and was running the mid 14s. Mods include a turbo back exhaust and custom tune I believe it's pushing 19.5psi. All runs below are in order from beginning to end. I wasn't flatfoot shifting on the runs either.

Iced intercooler before run and sprayed the sh*t out of it with water.
Second run
Reaction Time: .473

Another run no ice

I1: 1.951
I2: 6.090
I3: 9.329
E.T.: 14.314
MPH: 99.098

Another run no ice - missed second gear still ran
Reaction Time: .195
I1: 2.254
I2: 6.270
I3: 9.442
E.T.: 14.413
MPH: 99.126

Another run no ice - babies second gear
Reaction Time: .218
I1: 11.986
I2: 6.017
I3: 9.298
I4: 12.110
E.T.: 14.462
MPH: 94.025

Another run no ice missed second gear still ran it
Reaction Time: 0.63
I1: 2.032
I2: 6.118
I3: 9.375
I4: 12.112
E.T.: 14.435
MPH: 95.043

On all runs I was getting clean launches and I was launching between 5 and 5.5 rpm. Maybe I was launching to high because I was spinning the tires off the launch but then again when I was connecting second gear my tires were spinning alittle too. I let the car cool down but it didn't seem to help. Driver mod fail ftw. Totally disappointed in myself. There was an 07 Limited STI running 13.8 and a bone stock 06 STI running 13.6 - 13.9 most of the night. Maybe someone knows how to read my slips better to see why I'm not where I should be.

You were getting +2 second 60' times... You weren't getting clean launches at all.

Around 5k RPM is about right for the track. Theres more traction on the track then streets so if you launched a 4.5 you'll just bogg out. Looks like you just need second gear practice and some launch control action.

Your '60s indicate bad launching.
If you were easing into 2nd and not shifting extremely fast that's another thing that will absolutely kill your time.

I don't think your car is running any more than 18psi.

Practice makes perfect
