My sister's boyfriend was apparently in the Gamestop trying to buy the new Halo or something when it happened.
Also, I have a few friends that work there and it looks like they're now out of a job for quite some time. As much as I'm not a fan of mall shopping, it really sucks for all of the hourly employees that are going to be put into a really ****ty financial situation.

they were talking about the "huge economic impact this will have" on the news yesterday... i couldn't believe it...
every single store in that mall is going to make 100% (or maybe more) return on their ENTIRE INVENTORY since insurance will be paying out on it. when you consider that they now have no operational cost either that works out to big money... plus all the construction work thats going to need to be done?
this is probably the best thing to happen to roseville in years.

they wouldn't get much, but see above.buddy of mine worked at a lumber yard for 6 days one summer then the ***** caught on fire. insurance wrote him a lump sum check for 80% of his hourly x 2 months of work (his projected employment since he was seasonal)

Insurance pays for the damage and rebuilding but it doesn't pay for the lost revenues the city is making from the Mall being in business there.
13.5 million dollars a year in taxes is quite a bit of money.
