Question Restaurant Suggestion for Valentine's

Guys/Girl,

I need some help picking a restaurant for Valentine's. I was planning on taking Terri out Saturday night, but neither of us can decide on a restaurant. We go out often and we wanted something other than the usual places. My memory is failing me on some of the other Sac area fine establishments.

Can anyone suggest a good restaurant that is either Italian, Steak, Seafood, or Continental and is not from the list below? We'd like to stay out of the south area just for convenience sake.

Bailie's
Gigi's
Z Grille
Morton's
Enotria
Scott's Seafood
Cliff House
Granito's
Biba's

As an alternative, if anyone knows of a really good and authentic Japanese place that is quiet (ie: not Mikuni's), please post it.

TIA

edit: to clarify, I'm thinking more dressy than casual.

I was thinking about that or even Tunnel21, but I'm still pissed at Vlade for going to the Lakers.

Although not in your catagory, Tapa the World is a great little place with a nice atmosphere. They have live music also.

Does authentic mean not made by Koreans? Because if it doesn't then Ichi Maki is a good place. BJ's brewry is a great pizzaria/italian joint and the bear is excellent. Are you talking about dressing up and going out or just being casual? I've heard the Cliff House is good but expensive.

my vote: SUSHI!

Samari is my fav for decent, but lacks the intimate atmosphere...
have never tried Taka's off Madison & Fair Oaks, but i've heard they're really good also.

Mikuni's is a dive!
crappy americanized sushi and it's always packed and loud...
you have to yell for the person across the table to hear you...
they heard you in and out like a pack of cattle...
i only eat there when someone invites us.
it's better than Safeway deli sushi but not by much.

cliffhouse is good food! not as pricey as everyone says...
but it's not cheap food.
but i'm sure it will be elbow to elbow on Vtines day.

Actually, I was thinking more of traditional Kaiseki dinners and such.

I edited my post. I was thinking more dressy than casual. The Cliff House is a great suggestion, but we were there recently.

Piatti is good. I also heard that new Barbacoa place (used to be Marie Calendars) has excellent food.

Tapa the World is the best.

Or you could just go to Jimboy's.
