My dog Karla, even though she dumped me 1 year ago for my MIL, was put down today.
She had been suffering with bone cancer in her front right foot/leg assembly for a few months, and finally had enough.
I found her hiding under a flatbed trailer on Kenneth Ave in CH/O-vale area shortly after moving into the area way back in 1994.
At the time I guess-timated her about 24months old.
Karla taught me how to play fetch and, while she loved killing rats and other small rodents, she never so much as growled at any of our children when they'd poke her in an eye.

Karla always had a aversion to loud sounds, so she really didn't like the air compressor firing off when I was doing construction around the house.
Plus, MIL was in the market for another dog, but was leary of a Rott/ Pit Bull mix.
After a few days of having Karla, MIL said that "She's the best dog I've ever had."

im sorry man...i had a golden retriever....the best and the calmest dog ever....it got cancer and started to loose all of its abilities to walk and coordinate....started to grow a goider like lump on its neck......turns out it was cancer....so when it had enough we had to put it to sleep also.....
