Still no friggin phone or DSL at home. This is utter BS. They're coming out today and they think all the cabling to the house got fried from the lightning hit. They asked me to be home between 8am and 5pm. So I told them that if I couold work from home it would be okay, but since I have no DSL that's not really a possibility.

That's lame. They can just fix the problem and verify dial tone is at the point of entry. After that it's inside wiring and/or your DSL hardware.

I think they have a lot of people out in my area and they are just stalling. My modem lights up so I doubt the lines and equipment in my house got fried. I think they have an equipment problem at one of the poles and they just don't have the parts.

Whatever the case, you're right - it's lame.
