it gives you full control of your i-pod through the deck. the site says you need a 2004 deck, but according to my brother (installer and big time alpine nut) you can use any Ai-net deck that starts with CDA-xxxxx.

did you get your speaker time correction dialed in? would you mind sharing the values you used? i haven't really been bored enough to measure it out and make the calculations.
also, does anyone else running aftermarket front speakers have problems with them hitting the door under hard bass hits? my focal's do this with my alpine deck, but didn't with the stock deck. i'm playing with the crossover to try and dial out some of that, or i may have to make spacers that aren't so thick.

Yeah, after seeing how they implemented control, it doesn't seem all that great. I can't use it on my workhorse 10gb, either, since it's not a dock model, but the way I have it hooked in is clean enough for me.
I don't have the battery life concerns the 3rd and 4th gens do, though, and that's a massive plus for a car player (never having to charge it.)
