Oil Catch can ??
whats a good amount? if you run your finger across the tbody it should def. feel oily. this little bit of oil eventually ends up in the combustion chamber, burning away just like any other good ol hydrocarbon
.
it won't hurt much if it's a "normal" amount of oil... make the valves a bit dirtier than they normally would be and maybe mess with the octane of the fuel by some tiny fraction.
if you got so much oil in there that if you were to take off the IC and have it drip oil, that would be a problem. all that oil being burned, you would notice it on the dipstick level, exhaust smoke.. etc..

IMO though, oil catch cans are a good thing. You don't need to go for bling (unless you want to
) but they are effective in helping prolong the life of your turbo and keeping the internals of your motor a little cleaner. I've also heard that a catch can with a decent filter media will also give you a little better overall gas mileage assuming it has been installed properly. Basically the dirty stuff that was pumped through the pcv system before is no longer contaminating clean air/fuel going into the combustion chamber.
