While I was at the Wendy's drive-thru on Greenback (where the speed limit is now 40 MPH) I SAW A CITRUS HEIGHTS POLICE CAR DRIVE BY!!!

P.S. The Wendy's on Hazel is closed or something...

 

Yeah, today when I was at work, I saw 5 police cars in the parking lot.

When I asked about it, my captian reminded me that I work at a police station.

 

Actually is the limit 40? The big sings say Feb 07 but the actual limit signs that I see still say 45. The CH website say s teh change will happen in march. What's teh dealio????

 

Looks like you're right with March 1st. It's just I thought I saw a 40 MPH sign on Sunrise tonight in front of the mall (maybe it's always been 40 there ).

I think there is a grey area. The big temporary doom saying signs say 40MPH, know the limit. While the original posted signs say 45.

I heard from a CHP that a speed sign is not enforceable until a speed survey has been done. Sounds like a good way to get out of a simple speeding ticket in court. How do you find out if a speed survey has been done for a particular street?

They already did a speed survey on sunrise... which is why they lowered the limit.

 

I haven't seen the details of the speed survey yet. Supposed to be doen in a way that doesn't alter the normal speed of traffic (aka cops in cop cars with lights on can't take the survey).

Speed suppoed to be set to that of the 85th percentile rounded down to the nearst 5MPH. There are ways around this though and I think that's what happened here.

I'm really curious about the traffic signal timing they are going to implement. When they talk about timing lights to control the speed of traffic they usually do it for the 'commute' direction. The other way gets all wacked. <--- that's me.
