Off Roading/Mudding Near Sacramneto

Does anyone know of any good off roading or mudding around Sacramento? I heard there is a bunch around Placerville and up to Tahoe, but I'm looking for closer stuff too.

A good spot that a friend and I hit up last weekend was around Garden Hwy and Riego Rd. I've had decent luck finding trails driving around garden highway and west of the airport. Do you all have any more good spots you'd be willing to share?

Besides prairie city, I dont know of too much local (and even then, ive actually never been there).

Check FB, there is a local Mtnroo chapter for Sac. Seems like they will do a trip once a month or so.

The decent ones I'm aware of are on the far sides of Placerville and Foresthill. Check the Dirty Impreza Norcal forum for better information on this topic, they also have Norcal Rallyx information if you're thinking of going down that road. Sliding around at Prairie in front of the rangers is fun, only used to cost $5; but I haven't been there in a while so unsure if that's changed. Less of an adventure but $5 and no ticket risk made for good fun.

When I'm in the Sacramento area itching for some off-roading, I just go to Prairie City SVRA, which is just south of Folsom.

In fact, I recently did so and got my Subaru XV Crosstrek quite dirty

What an aftermath I can be proud of.
