Finning mill road in foresthill.... We go up there often. We got up to 75 in some spots, and the road is pretty smooth for gravel/dirt. Not too many big rocks or pot holes either...

There's a pretty good road atlas (I forget the publisher) that includes dirt roads. I'll find my copy tomorrow and let you know who puts it out.
I'm not sure how many of the OG off roaders and canyon carvers are still active on here, but back in the day people were reluctant to post the names of their driving areas, for fear of idiots flooding it. Thats why it is best to get your own material and research it.

I'm down! Finally took the truck slightly off-road. Went to a farm outside of Davis. Got to play with the 4Lo and locked diff settings. My subie probably wouldn't have even made it through the gravel road to the farm hahaha!

If you ever find yourself near Mammoth there are some fantastic roads near Benton's Crossing. Miles and miles of wide gravel roads that (save for the occasional cow) you can take at speed. Most are as wide as a 2-lane road and pretty empty. When you are done going fast you can stop at the natural hot tubs and soak!
