No more daily, weekly, etc.
OK, I'm done with daily threads, weekly threads, etc. They started years ago as a way for the guys that started this forum to keep the single-thread feel that we started with, and there were lots of other relevant discussions.
Now, they're postwhoring messes with people responding to themselves and talking to hear themselves speak, using them as a vehicle for random BS. That's what OT is for, and even OT has specific threads. If you want to chat with a buddy back and forth, use IM, or PM's, please. Help us keep this place readable
We all trade crap back and forth, that's cool, but take it to PM's once you've got 5+ responses back and forth, please.
Make a new thread if you've got something to post - a question, a news story, a fundamental life event where people who you don't want to listen to will tell you what you're doing wrong, etc.
This does three things.
A: Allows new people to jump in on different subjects instead of trying to wade hip-deep through conversations better suited to PM's.
B: Allows moving appropriate threads on single subjects to the right place if needed, instead of vivisecting a discussion with 18 tangents in a daily to try to pull out a relevant question.
C: Allows actually searching or scanning for info on relevant local stuff 0 let's face it, a daily isn't descriptive at all and gives people no idea what's up.
BAIC has worked normally for years, i just want to get back to that, please.
Consider this official notice: random postwhoring threads will be moved or locked without warning. I'd rather have 20 threads with a post every hour or two than one messy thread.
