btw - you would really be surprised (or maybe not) at how many people own watches with the tachymeter scale on the bezel and do not know what it's for.
lets you offset the second hand before you start the timer to say give yourself i 5 second lead in. i assume the usage is anytime you need to start the tachymeter at a specific time but also need your hands free.

My tastes are a bit more utilitarian.

I'd love an Omega, but can't justify it. I've got a Ti Citizen Ecodrive that's awesome but sits on the shelf, my old quartz Seiko is my daily beater. I can't justify over 400-500 on a watch

ironically i wear the omega all the damn time, and the swiss army is the shelf queen.

Oh, I'd wear it every day, too - not questioning the utility.

BTW - anyone want to buy a slightly used bulova?

I've got a Bulova Marine Star 96C100 that i NEVER wear anymore as it's kind of redundant... it just got back from Bulova for warranty repair, quartz movement was just repaired for day/date function, case was re-sealed and the battery was replaced. i purchased it new in July and have the warranty papers.

MSRP is $250, froogle.com has an average price of $180 new, ebay has an average price of about $170 new.

mine has some wear and tear scratches, but nothing that couldn't be buffed out or cleaned up with a scotch-brite pad.
