New(bie) to Sac, need some advice
Hi all,
After 15 years in the Bay Area (SJ and SF), I'm moving to Sacramento. My fiance and I bought a house in the Bridgeway Lakes area, got a nice garage for the bugeye and only an hour from T-Hill
. I've seen and heard quite a few Subies already, but I wanted to introduce myself to the SRiC and make it official.
Also, hoping to get some advice on where to take our cars for service now that we're far from our normal spots (LIC). I handle most of the minor stuff, but for more major services I generally take it in. It seems that DB Tuned is the place to go for my Suby, so I'll be sure to check them out eventually. But I need suggestions on where to take a BMW (fiance's) and a Miata (my daily) for service. The usual stuff, needs to be reasonably priced with a lot of knowledge about each type of vehicle. For example, PR Motorsports is a good place to take a Miata, but it's all the way in Hayward.
Also, what's a good place in Sac for powdercoating? Need a bike frame done up...
Thanks in advance, everyone. Looking forward to meeting you all at a meet or get-together soon.
Andrew

There's a bunch of PC places out in Rancho Cordova off south Sunrise. I've had stuff done at a few with great results; there's a ton of hot rod shops and wakeboard tower manufacturers out there so there's quite a few PC shops to handle the demand. I'll dig up some cards next time I'm out that way (I work in Rancho)
For your BMW, there's a great independent shop right next to Paul's (DBTuned) called TriStar Motorsports; Andre, the guy who runs it, is a trained BMW and MB tech, and will take great care of you.
Not sure on the Miata; Paul's not adverse to doing most stuff, and while you'll probably get some gay jokes out of him, he does great work and stands behind his efforts and parts on any car. Hes definitely the best resource locally for Subarus, bar none.

Consider it donned.
Sybir, thanks for the tips. I've seen some of Paul's posts, so I wouldn't expect anything less than gay jokes if I brought him the Miata. He sounds like he does good work regardless of the make or gayness rating

wow... jvick and vladi - the reason you guys catch **** is you act like douchebags sometimes.
mr. pillowbiter (j/k) didn't come on here and make an *** out of himself in his first 3 posts, so no reason to flame.
