Need some help from fellow alcoholics...

Alright, so it's not the kind of help the title may have led you to believe... I'm trying to get my hands on a 3 litre bottle of Double Bastard Ale, but it's seasonal and everyone I've called on Stone Brewery's Distribution List are out.

Does anyone know of any stores out there that specialize in rare/out of season beers? Or is anyone familiar with the Double Bastard and can you recommend a similar product in a giant 3 litre bottle?

Hmmm... This is all sage advice, but I think I sense a misunderstanding in what I'm actually looking for. Just to clarify the question, does anybody have any advice regarding a good Barley-wine-style of ale?

Now don't let the "wine" part of Barley-wine throw you all off on another tangent... It is not related to vino and also it's higher alcohol % than typical beer doesn't imply any similarities to distilled spirit such as vodka or Crown Royal. Except for the ability to get you $H!T-faced quicker than ****-weiser...

HAS to be done AT LEAST 8 times. My roomates did it last year with Vladamir and they passed it off for Grey Goose Limon at a party (they added lime juice) although I'm sure the girls had NO idea what real Grey Goose tastes like.

In regards to your first post. Try Nugget Markets. They have some locations around Sacramento, I'm not sure where exactly except for 2-3 in Woodland, 2 in Davis, and 1 in Vacaville. I'm sure there are more. I've found some rare Gin there (Broker Gin) and I know they also carry other nice liquors, wines, spirits, etc. (including beer).

Good luck on your venture.
