Need a new Smart Phone
My Treo 650 is having some reception issues and my company wants to replace it rather than repair it. I now have the option to replace it with any of the Cingular offerings which are supported by Good Link. We are also phasing out the Palm OS based stuff ().
These look to be my options:
1) Treo 750
2) Blackjack
3) HTC8525
4) HP6925
5) Blackberry
What do you guys think? I'll miss all of my Palm programs, but what's good/bad/etc.?

I use Good Link (email, calendar, tasks) more than anything else. The phone is secondary, but I need something that works well as a phone too.

I'd say take any Windows Mobile device over Blackberry since Windows Mobile is more tweakable to your liking. Plus Windows Mobile allows you to directly connect to an Exchange server, while Blackberries have to go through a BB conduit.
Another thing to keep in mind, Windows Mobile Smartphone and Windows Mobile Pocket PC are not the same OS so they don't run the same applications unless the app is designed for both.
Smartphone (aka Windows Mobile Standard)
- NOT touchscreen
- Don't have as many applications available
- Typically they have slower processors than Pocket PC
Pocket PC (aka Windows Mobile Professional)
- ARE touchscreen
- Run more applications than Smartphone
- Typically have faster processors than Smartphone
I switched from Pocket PC to Smartphone (T-Mobile Dash) in October 2006 and haven't had any problems finding the same (or similar) apps I had on Pocket PC, and honestly don't miss the touchscreen. I actually prefer no touchscreen cause I can use the device with one hand and put it in my pocket without any type of case.
One other thing to look into, I think the Windows Mobile devices you listed come with Windows Mobile 5 by default, some will have the Windows Mobile 6 upgrade available soon (if not already), so you'll want to make sure your device comes with WM6 or is at least upgradeable.
Here are the OS's these run:
1) Treo 750 (Pocket PC)
2) Blackjack (Smartphone WM5 default, WM6 upgrade available soon)
3) HTC8525 (Pocket PC)
4) HP6925 (Pocket PC)
5) Blackberry (BB OS)
I'd say go to the store and actually try them out, see how they feel using them and in your pocket. I haven't used a BB in a few years, so honestly can't give you any opinion on them.

I ended up with a Blackjack since the 8525 was $$$$. It's taking some getting used to now that I don't have a touchscreen or all of my cool Palm OS utilities, but I love the size of this phone.
