Need a little computer help

So I go to shut down my computer and nothing happens. I try again, still nothing. I try to bring up the task manager, but nothing comes up. I have no idea what happened and why its not shutting down. So, if anyone has any tips or knows what to do to help me fix this odd problem, please let me know.

Thanks...

not a proper shut down, so it won't.

It sounds like something is hung up pretty bad, man, and you probably just need to power switch it. If the power switch is preventing you from turning it off, you can either try holding it, which sometimes forces the thing to power off, or unplug it, which has the same effect

If it makes you feel any better, we run in to this type of problem occasionally in the server world and we white switch em to clear issues. 99% of the time, they come right back up.

Unplug it, then power it back up. I learned that in Troubleshooting 101.

well, that got it to turn off. But when I got back on, I checked to see if the Task Manager worked, it still isn't. Hehe and I cannot shut down still
