I was following a couple friends heading into Folsom on Salmon Falls Road. One of the first curves is a 15 MPH curve, we were on the inside lane. As we were coming up to the curve two bikes came hauling around the outside lane coming the other direction. A second later right as we got up to the curve a third guy came sliding right into the guard rail. The dude had bailed from the bike, lucky for him, otherwise he would've been wedged under the guard rail along with his bike. Amazingly the guy got up, was a little shaken, and his leg was a hurt but he was still able to walk. We helped get his bike out and a couple other bikers pulled up to help him out. It was pretty crazy seeing that.

I see idiots like that all the time on HWY 49 between Cool & Auburn.
Stupid mother****ers put their tires on the yellow line, then lean into my lane.
May he learn from this mistake.
Or die before he passes on his defective genetic material.

More motorcycle wrecks:
Last Satun's Day, 39 yr old guy lost control of his crotch rocket on Forresthill Road.
Speed was over 100mph.
Died at scene, leaving a family behind.
Obit said something like "he died doing what he loved."
Really? Endangering the public & causing immense grief for loved ones is what he loved to do?
At work, we've got 3 guys out due to them wrecking on motorbikes.
One was splitting lanes, and got his leg wrapped around the tire of a truck, causing multiple compound fractures.
A few weeks ago, a friend of Mrs Oaf rounded a corner and came upon some ******** that just laid his bike down and was sliding across the road, into her lane.
She had nowhere to go, except over the rider.
Tow truck had to come out, lift the car up so EMTs could remove the carcass.
Now she's having nightmares of the last thing she saw...the rider, eyes wide open, attempting to change his destiny by blocking her car with his hands.
I could go on with personal near misses I've encountered almost daily with motorbike riders that have no respect for themselves, let alone the public.

i feel for your wife's freind, my wife saw a guys arm get ripped off after he dumped his bike trying to stunt on the freeway. she couldn't shake the image for months.i've also seen a guy lose his leg trying to show off in pisa, italy .dude saw us americans and popped one up at the light, then lost it and slid for about 500 ft. blood was everywhere, gas was comign out the bike, and like 40 italians were smoking around it. they were picking him up and taking his helmet off, none of them spoke english...really sucked.

I agree with you, maybe changing some of the laws will reduce the number of crashes.
How about one strike & your out; no more motorbike.

my gripe wasn't for all laws, just the one that alows folks on bikes to ride between lanes.
for example In Illinois that's not aloud, so very few try it.

People also forget that the lane-splitting law only comes into play if your bike is air cooled, and traffic is under 25 mph. If traffic is at 25, you can't split lanes, ever.
