Unhappy My rear bumper......

I was in an accident yesterday.
I was driving from Reno to Carson city. It was snowing and it was icy.

Then when I was driving on the fast lane, and going about 55mph like most others do, a fuc'in nissan pickup from the slow lane, driving way slower than me, just cut me off about 1 foot ahead of me.

I slammed the brakes, but since it was icy, my car didn't slow down at all. I had to change lane, so I switch to the slow lane and release the brake. Then my car start fishtailing, when I countersteer, my car did a 180, the rear left bumper hit the right concrete side of the highway. Then another 180, put me to a stop facing foward on the side. So my lpoor 06' outback's left rear bumper was dented, partially fell off, and badly scratched. I had only 1050 miles on it.....

That pickup just took off, and fortunately there was a guy behind my car saw the whole thing, and stopped and asked me if I was ok. He also said he's going to be my eyewitness if I claim insurance.

So I want to ask, I have triple A as my insurance company. Will they raise my rate if I do a claim? And which body shop here in Reno is good?

Not sure about your insurance situation, but for body shops...

1. Gilson's in Carson City
2. Grove Street in Sparks
3. Concourse in Reno.

DO NOT go to Lithia Subaru's body shop, they are the worst ever.

Lithia sucks total ***.,..They ****ed up my sti like 3 times, for a simple sand damage claim, they are the worst body shop I've ever dealt with. If you go there, expect to be without your car for a long time, and look like **** when it's "done"

So I got a real problem here
Went to concourse, they are asking for 1400
Then went to Grove Street, they ask for 1040
Went to Miracle, they ask for 900

Which shall I go to?

Are you not doing it through insurance? Those prices sound rediculously high for what you described.

If you have to pick one of those three, I'd say Grove St. is your best bang for the buck

You are right, I'm not doing insurance. They have to replace the whole bumper cover, and the price stated is included the reinforcement bar (which none of us know whether is intact or damaged before we rip open the bumper cover.)

If I'm luckly enough, it will take about $250 off those prices.
