moving to sac next weekend...

whats up sacramento i-club people? i'm starting UTI in a couple weeks so i'm moving to sac from washington and my car has an HKS hipower TBE and tial 44mm EWG. obviously emissions testing is pretty lenient here in washington. my car is pretty loud, especially at WOT and i was wondering if i would have much trouble with the boys in blue while i'm there. not to mention emissions, i used to live in socal and had enough trouble with it while i was there without all the mods done to my car. what do you guys do to pass california smog?? also, is there any reputable shops in sac? i live right down the street from MPS in marysville WA and they are one of the best subaru shops i've ever seen. it would be super nice to have a shop even half as awesome as them in sac. i would like to get some ppgs or albins gears installed one day since my car puts down 350whp on the stock 5 speed... any help is appreciated. cant wait to meet some people at some meets.

Well are you planning on registering it in CA cause I wouldn't and keep it WA if I were you. But smog wont passvisuals and if you're at 350 assuming you have a turboback, even high flow cats usually fail so.

Ya. Why would you register it in Cali?

That exhaust sounds like a ticket waiting to happen.

Paul and his crew at DB Tuning is the shop to go to. He's in the middle of getting his new shop location going. Might want to stop there for a ****-water 91octane tune. welcome to cali.

Welcome btw As far as smog goes, if you DO end up having to do it here, you'll need some stock exhaust and take off the tial.

Welcome to good 'ol Cali bro, i'd just keep it reg with Wash unless you plan on going back to stock cuz this state has very strict smog regulations. I got a straight pipe so you shouldn't be too loud since i've had no problems so far. Our gas sucks too so getting a 91 OCT tune would be very wise. Just wondering what branch of the military you were in cuz i was in that ****hole also. Hope you enjoy it here (you should) & maybe see you at some future Sac or Elk Grove meets. Later!

I was in da Corps bro (X-Marine) & i also was stationed at Camp Pendleton, before that i was in Okinawa for a year working in a Naval unit, how ironic! Military has it's ups & downs but it def wasn't for me. Why wouldn't they let you reenlist if you don't mind me asking? If you're still in Washington, then maybe next time bro, just check the Elk Grove meet thread for details when you do finally get to Sac ok. Well Squid, this Jarhead says "at ease, er i mean take it easy haha". I guess i'll see you when you get here, damn with 350 whp on a WRX your car must be hella modded, can't wait to check it out!

i'm not gonna lie bro, marines are the coolest people to party with by far. not only do they get down, but they always got your back. i was stationed at assault craft unit 5 where the LCACs are, you prob seen them on the water a few times if you were at camp pendleton. the navy is downsizing man... if you do'nt cut it they give you the boot. sux. n yes, theres a few goodies under the hood on my car lol. just gotta get some gears next...
