system32\drivers\etc directory (oops I means folder) in windows or win32 folder.
This is the home to a file called 'hosts'. It has no extension.

Open it in notepad or your AOL equivelant text editor. (i keel me).
Add the line 127.0.0.1 i-club.us.intellitxt.com at the bottom of the file.
Save (make sure it saves as the same name without any extensions (damnit.. you aren't hidding extensions are you??))
You might need to reboot.

This stops your computer from being able to download the java file that creates the underlined links.

thanks for the tip!
there are a couple other sites i visit that have the same annoying hyper search text ads that i'd like to remove.
will the same string remove it from any other site as well as long as it's changed to the appropriate site name?

i.e.: 127.0.0.1 whateversiteiwish.us.intellitxt.com

???

I don't know if other sites use their exact name as part of the intellitxt host like i-club does. Howard forums is the only other forum I've ever seen these ads on. Until today I ignored them.

the one i'm thinking of is a lame honda site i rarely view anymore...except for the classifieds about once a month...but it was just something that annoyed me and i thought i could fix it.

i have seen it on a few other sites now as well...like Nabisco...but i really don't care about that one sice i NEVER go there except when soggy links a thread.

nasioc is nasioc.us.intellitxt.com.

Go to your honda site and view the source. look for some junk with intellitxt.com in it. That should tell you. Also for nasioc and i-club the code was added to the bottom of the sorce so you might look there first.

yeah, but then you have to go find the filters, download them, install them...

adding one text line to your hosts file is fairly simple
