We got started a bit late (1 hour thanks to someone who will remain nameless and is not me, Matt, or RussA), but that gave the roads some time to dry up and the fog time to burn off.
Salmon Falls was a blast as usual, except for the minivan that wouldn’t pull over…
The fun really started at Foresthill. We saw snow on the ground in town and had a few worries. But we headed down the road anyway. Our first stop was the big overlook:

We kept on down the road, never seeing a single car, or more importantly CHP patrol. We ran into one of the Placer County Water Authority trucks and he kindly pulled over. As we went along, we kept seeing more and more snow, but the road was plowed. Then we hit this point:

There was a road that went off to the right that we had never been down, but it was plowed, and this sign was very tempting:

At the bottom of the road was a hydroelectric plant and dam. We stopped to take some pics before heading back up:

We went back to the spot we stopped at earlier to cool off the IC’s and take more pics:

The drive was a lot of fun and I was surprised how far we actually got. Thanks to everyone.
