Well, fun morning so far. Got up at 5:30 this morning to drive home, because when I tried last night, I got to the Gold Run rest area and found out traffic was backed up to there from Nyack.
Chain controls were still up at 7 this morning, so today was teh day I found out that the chains I bought are a little too big for my car. They won't fall off, but at 8 mph they start slinging up and hitting the fenders.
Lucky for me, as I was pulling away from the chain control guy, I hear his radio blaring for him to hold all east bound traffic- I was the last one through.
So I pulled over as soon as I cleared the first rise, de-chained, and averaged about 45 mph to this side of Truckee. +1 more for the WinterSport M3s! My day was dramatically brightened by passing an H2 with its flashers on going 25 mph at the summit.
