I still have a 14mhz Apple, and a 25mhz Apple Performa that I have sitting on a shelf in the basement. I pulled the 14mhz one out not too long ago, and tried booting it up. STill works, but is slow as hell (obviously). I remember how hot and new that was when I got it. It connected to the *gasp* INTERNET!

This could either be good for Apple, or it could be a horrible idea. Only time will tell. Although my Dual 2.5 G5 is more than enough computer for me.

as unfortunate as it is to hear this being a mac user, part of why macs run faster is the architecture of hardware. i think steve jobs is trying to steal a ton of marketshare from microcrap. if OS X can run on a x86 platform microsoft is in trouble. ill have to talk to my friends at apple and intel, i bet they are hearing more about it than the news lets on.

Tiger does run on x86, and it's also 64 bit (big advantage). I wouldn't worry about benchmark speeds, if anything they'll improve.
