Buddy of mine let's me use his every now and then, but I'm gonna start looking for one myself. One of the things that really impressed me: It connects to a server via WiFi and downloads the FSM for whatever code you get, so you can see the factory diagnostic procedures to test/replace what's broken.
The Solus Ultra is a really old platform IIRC. When I was working at SnapOn, the cool new one was Solus Edge. I agree, SureTrack is super cool. Unless they changed something, the Solus Ultra shouldn't have wifi to be able to do SureTrack. That was a Solus Edge (and Modis Ultra) thing.
If you want the really cool one that does everything. You want a Modis Ultra. On top of the scanning and SureTrack, it also has a Component Test Module which allows you to test individual components. For example, if you have an ignition problem, you can test the coil itself with the tool to determine if the coil is bad or not without just needlessly replacing it and not actually fixing the problem. But that thing isn't cheap either, it's $6k.
The pricing on those things blew my mind. While I was working at SnapOn, I had ~3 of every tool. One day I looked up the prices on all of them. I had like $100,000 worth of tools all over my desk.
EDIT: Since I've been there, there's now a Modis Edge. Looks liked the took the Modis Ultra guts and put them in the slimmer Edge case. I'd get that.
