I have a Harman Kardon headset that I love. But it looks like they don't make them anymore.
Semi related, my roommate gave me a pair of memory foam pads that happen to fit on my other headset. Those are the best thing ever. That headset went from "pretty good" to "****ing awesome".

One of the biggest issues with Bose is they won't publish the frequency response range on their products. In fact they don't really publish any meaningful specifications for their products.
