the females have the red mark ....and males dont if i remember correctly.....but i still think they are both poisonous....but i may be wrong...just something i learned over the years...haha...i use to collect black widows and fight them other ones on a little stick....they always kick ash though....=)

we've had some huge black widows in our back yard. that field behind the house is where they come from. haven't seen any since we hired the pest control people

For the bastard who posted the picture... He can die... I too am deathly afraid of black widows and other big spiders.. Whenever i see one I just sit there and stair at it and my legs get all weird.....
